The Sun today (2024-11-09)
Below you can see an image of the Sun in Hydrogen-Alpha taken on November 09, 2024 between 02:37 and 02:42 pm EDT.
I used a software called LuSol3D to add accurate image scales to compare the Sun and its features with the Earth.
I also used a software named Autostitch that works great when I need to create a solar mosaic with multiple images of the Sun.
Date: 2024-10-20 19:37-42 UT
Location: My backyard in Richmond Hill (ON)
Gain:0
Exposure: 1.929ms
Scope: Lunt 40mm B600
Mount: Celestron AVX
Camera: Player-One Mars-M II
Software: FireCapture (best 30% from 1000 frames), AS!4, Autostitch, ImPPG, GIMP
Notes: There were some beautiful solar prominences and filaments, plus some huge sunspots! As usual, I’ve included a labeled image that provides a scale comparison.
