The Sun today (2025-10-04)
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, with a temperature of 27 degrees(!) I decided to image the Sun.
The solar images below were processed using the best 25% of 2,000 frames. Image sequences have been acquired with FireCapture.
Just as I was about to wrap up my solar imaging session (at 2:07 PM EDT), I noticed something unusual on the Sun’s limb: a massive prominence had suddenly emerged. Check out that huge filament around the 4 o’clock position… it spans several times the size of Earth!
Below you can find all the imaging session details.
